Loose Stones on a Resin Driveway — Why It Happens
A small amount of surface stone in the first few weeks is normal. Continuing loss — where you can sweep up a handful every week and see pitting — is not, and it points to how the material was mixed or laid.
This is one of the clearest signs of an install that went wrong rather than a surface that has simply aged.

The usual causes
Insufficient resin in the mix, inadequate forced-action mixing, laying in cold or damp conditions, or damp aggregate all prevent every stone from being fully coated. Uncoated stones have nothing holding them.
Contamination — dust, moisture or a dirty base — has the same effect at the interface.
How to check the extent
Ravelling in one bay usually means one bad mix. Loss across the whole drive suggests a systemic problem with the specification or conditions on the day.
Run a stiff brush over a test area: a sound surface sheds almost nothing.
Repair options
Isolated areas can be cut out and re-laid. Where loss is widespread, the correct remedy is an overlay or replacement of the wearing course rather than repeated patching.
