Concrete and resin are often the two candidates when an old drive is being replaced rather than overlaid — and interestingly, a good concrete slab makes an excellent base for resin.
Comparing them fairly means separating the structure from the finish.

Strength versus permeability
Concrete is structurally the strongest domestic driveway option and takes heavy vehicles comfortably. But it is impermeable, so drainage has to be designed and it can fall foul of front garden surfacing rules without it.
Resin-bound over an open-graded base is permeable by design and avoids that issue entirely.
Cracking and appearance
Concrete needs correctly placed movement joints and even then hairline cracking is common. Over time it stains, and the joints are permanent visual lines.
Resin is seamless, comes in many aggregate colours and hides light soiling better, though it needs a stable base to stay crack-free.
Best of both
Where a sound concrete slab already exists, resin over the top gives the strength of the slab with a permeable, seamless finish and no breaking out — usually the most cost-effective upgrade available.
Where the slab has failed structurally, both options start from the same excavation.
